The tour reaches its climax in the final room. The Goat Room, where Niels Henrik Abel spent the last months of his life and died in 1829, is a place that draws visitors from around the world.
The distinctive wallpaper, decorated with goats, is the original wallpaper from Abel's time. It even bears a few faint scribbles believed to have been made by the gravely ill mathematician himself.
Few places offer a closer connection to Niels Henrik Abel than the Goat Room – the very room where one of the world's greatest mathematical minds spent his final days.
